Why claim with us?

  • Most donation tax credit claims we file are paid out within 3–4 working days.
  • Claiming yourself can take up to 12 weeks with Inland Revenue.

We take care of the paperwork, lodge everything correctly, and help avoid delays — so if IRD doesn’t need to review your claim, you’ll often see your refund much sooner.

Donation Tax Credit

If you’ve donated to a charity, school, church, or other approved organisation, you may be entitled to a Donation Tax Credit from Inland Revenue.

A donation tax credit lets you get 33.33% (one-third) of your eligible donations back as cash, helping ensure you don’t miss out on money you’re entitled to claim for the generosity you’ve already shown.

Who can claim?

You can usually claim a donation tax credit if:

  • You earned taxable income during the tax year
  • You donated $5 or more to an IRD-approved organisation
  • You’re claiming as an individual
  • You have donation receipts — or can get copies

What donations can be claimed?

Donation tax credits apply to donations made to approved organisations, including many:

  • Registered charities
  • Schools (voluntary donations only)
  • Churches and religious organisations
  • Community and not-for-profit organisations
Your donation must be a true donation — you must not have received goods or services in return.
